Accumulator Bets

4 May 2010 by admin, No Comments

Accumulator bets are a great way to spread out your betting money across number games/races/matches. So rather than being only interested in the outcome of one game you have more games to keep an eye on. Like any type of betting system, this way betting has its own pros and cons.

The main advantage is that you have a chance to win a very good amount of money for very little original stake. If you win your games then your winnings are multiplied by the odds of the game.

For example say you bet on this accumulator:

$3 total bet on
Manchester United – Liverpool draw at 3.00
Real Madrid – Barcelona home win at 2.00
Lazio – Inter draw at 3.00

Your total win could be $54, giving you a total profit of $51. This is over 10 times the amount of your original stake.

The great thing is that even if you lose you have only lost $3 which is not very much money at all.

The disadvantage to this system is that you are relying on a number of matches to be in your favor to win. This means that your actual chances of winning are lower than just betting one match. For example if your accumulator has 3 matches in, and your first 2 win but your 3rd loses then you don’t win anything.

Like any type of bet some people will tell you that this is the best way to bet whilst others will swear it is the worst. The truth is that different people have different styles and if you do want to do a betting system you should try a couple in order to find one that suits you

The Martingale Betting System

4 April 2010 by admin, No Comments

One example of a very popular betting system is the Martingale. This is probably one of the most well known betting systems throughout the world; many betters use this on a regular basis. The system itself though does have its risks and although you can win you also have a high risk of going completely broke. The idea behind the system is to pick the right stakes rather than the right winner.

As a general rule you bet once and if you lose double you stake, repeat until you win.

So, For example you decide you want to bet $10. You place a bet with odd of 2.00. You lose. Your next bet would then be $20.00 with odds again of 2.00. You lose again so your third bet is $40. Hopefully by this stage you will win. You bet $40, you win $80. In total you bet $70 ($10 + $20 + $40) so after 3 bets you end up $10 in profit. Sounds great doesn’t it? Just remember if you carry on losing you bet more and more, by your 6th bet you would be betting $320!

Lots of people use this system however it is generally used by people that have high amounts of money to bet with. Of course if you bet on a stake that has higher odds then you can amend the amount you up your stake by each time, as long as the odds guarantee you a profit if you win.

Cheltenham Festival Top Trainers: Willie Mullins

Apart from betting on the races themselves, there are many other options offered by the Cheltenham Festival and one of these that can provide a special interest for punters is betting on the top trainer, that is the trainer whose horses score the most wins regardless of how prestigious is the race.

This year the odds on favourite to win the Top Trainer is Paul Nichols and although he is looking very hard to beat, given the much longer odds of some of the less popular trainers they are certainly worth considering. The second favourite is Nicky Henderson and in third place is Willie Mullins.

Willie Mullins is an Irish trainer and was born in Co Carlow, Ireland in 1956. He was born into a horse racing family and started in the business by working for his father Paddy Mullins. Willie became a jockey and as an amateur was awarded the Irish Champion Amateur Jockey on three occasions. In 1996 he won the Cheltenham Bumper.

Currently he is considered to be the best trainer in Ireland and is certainly one of the country’s mist successful jump trainers. His career as a trainer began in 1988 and as a trainer his success include Hedgehunter which won the Grand National in 2005 Quevega which won the David Nicholson Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in 2009 and Mikael d’Haguenet which won the Ballymore Properties Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in the same year.

Possibly his most famous horse is Florida Pearl. This horse was owned by Mrs Violet O’Leary. It won twice at the Cheltenham Festival in both the King George VI Chase and the Champion Bumper. It also won the King George VI Chase and was a four times winner of the Hennessy Gold Cup in Ireland.

Ruby Walsh is his stable jockey as well as working for Paul Nichols. Willie Mullins trains around fifty horses at a time and his emphasis is on festivals such as the Cheltenham. This year anticipate some great results from them.

Do Betting Systems Work?

4 March 2010 by admin, No Comments

If you look online for any betting tips and secrets that there is no doubt that you will read about a number of betting systems that people swear by. However the thing gambling is that it is just that – a gamble! You can never be sure of a win, so there are no definite winners.

The good thing about betting systems is that they usually allow you to cover a wide range of races or matches, and probably ones that you wouldn’t usually look at twice for placing a bet on. This means that you already heighten your chances of winning something back, simply because of the pure volume of bets you are placing and the spectrum you cover.

If you do want to look at a betting system then by all means go ahead just remember the rules are the same – Never rely on a win and never bet more than you can afford to win. As long as you stick to these rules then there is really no risk when it comes to betting because you are the one that remains in control.

Make sure you don’t just read one system and think it sounds great and steam ahead with that one. You should always do your research and read about more than one system, because that way you get an idea of what other people are using. This also means that if you do start using a system then you can be sure that the one you are using is right for you.

Can Anyone Do It?

Can Anyone Do It?

In simple the answer is yes, anyone can. As long as gambling is allowed in your country and you are above the legal gambling age, yes you can.

If you are new to placing sports bets then it can seem daunting. You load up a site and you are met with flashing offers, categories and text that can make the whole process seem complicated.

Truth is all you need to do is sign up to a site to get going. This is a very easy process and will take even the newest of players just a few minutes. Generally it asks for your name, address, date of birth and email address. Although some sites will ask for your contact number and details on how you found their website in the first place. You will probably be asked to verify your email address.

Once you have done this you have to fund your account. If you are using a debit or credit card then this is no different to shopping online. Just enter your card details and how much you want to fund. You can also use Pay pal etc on some sites and funding this way works the same.

Now you will be on the site and logged in. Just click the category you want to bet on (horse racing, football, rugby etc) and follow the links from there.

This part is extremely easy and usually if you are lucky enough to be a winner the winnings are paid automatically into your betting account so you don’t need to do anything to claim them!
